The station is scheduled to open in 2028. Although the original target was around the summer of that year, reports published in September 2026 indicated that JR Hokkaido was aiming to open the station in conjunction with the March 2028 timetable revision, depending on the construction progress.

However, the exact opening date has not yet been finalized, and an official announcement is expected at a later date.
